Event Overview
Join the Harvard Alumni Association of Utah for a winter cross-country skiing outing at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. This classic cross-country clinic is perfect for beginners and returning skiers. XC skiing is a full-body aerobic activity. Expect to warm up quickly, so light, layered clothing works best (no heavy downhill ski jackets needed). This early-February window, just after Sundance, typically offers quieter trails and excellent snow.
Kid Gear Guidance
They have boots down to EU size 26 and skis down to 100cm. They even have some toddler strap on skis and a ski chariot to pull even more tiny youngsters (but only one of those fitting two babies).
What to Wear / Bring
-
Layered, breathable clothing
-
Light or mid-weight gloves
-
Hat or headband
-
Sunglasses
-
Water bottle
(Classic XC skiing warms you up quickly—dress lighter than for downhill skiing.)
Tips
Tips for instructors are not included and are the responsibility of each participant.
Registration
Registration will:
-
Collect payment in advance for the clinic and trail pass
-
Reserve rental equipment
You may also purchase just a trail pass at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center on your own (if you have your own gear and do not want to participate in the lesson) for $24. This process has to be directly handled by you on an individual basis since it is outside of our group event!
